Join playwright L.E. McCullough of Prime Stage Theatre for the riveting story of Freedom House Ambulance Service, America's first mobile EMS, created in Pittsburgh’s Hill District in 1967 - and a discussion of his new play Freedom House: Giving Life a Second Chance, running Jan. 23-Feb. 1, 2026 at New Hazlett Theater on Pittsburgh’s North Side.

Against odds and adversity, the Black men of Freedom House saved countless lives while inventing an entirely new field of treatment that changed the world of emergency medicine.
