Join B.B. the Book Fairy for a very special storytime celebrating the extraordinary life of civil rights icon and activist Ruby Bridges. In 1960, six-year-old Ruby became the first African American child to attend a previously segregated all-white elementary school in New Orleans. Ruby's story of bravery and resilience remains a reminder of a not-so-distant time in American history and an inspiration for generations to follow.
This storytime is most appropriate for elementary school-age children, but all children and families are welcome!
See Prime Stage Theatre's production of Looking Forward: The Ruby Bridges Story at the New Hazlett Center for Performing Arts, January 17-26th.
